BREVARD, NC -- Catawba jumped on Brevard early and went on to complete a three-game sweep of the host Tornados with a 14-4 win in South Atlantic Conference baseball action on Sunday afternoon at Coan Field.  The 15th-ranked Catawba Indians improve to 22-5 overall and 14-1 in the SAC, while the Tornados fall to 14-15 and 7-8.

Catawba jumped out in front with three runs in the first inning.  Julio Zubillaga (China Grove, NC/Carson HS), Garrett Furr (Gold Hill, NC/Mt. Pleasant HS) and Chris Dula (Troutman, NC/S. Iredell HS) hit back-to-back-to-back doubles, while JJ Jankowski (McMurray, PA/Peters Township HS/Miami, OH) added a RBI groundout to put the Indians ahead early.

Catawba extended the lead with four runs in the third inning and two more in the fourth.  Greg Lawson (Charlotte, NC/Providence HS) drove in two of the runs in the third, while Cameron Beard (Conover, NC/Bunker Hill HS) and Ethan Satterfield (Madison, NC/McMichael HS) added RBIs in the fourth to put the Indians up 9-0.

Tarron Robinson connected on a three-run home run for Brevard to get the host Tornados on the board in the fourth.  A RBI by Zach Merriken had the Tornados within 9-4 after five, but the Indians erupted for five runs in the eighth to put the contest away.  Ryan Bostian (Kannapolis, NC/S. Rowan HS/Montreat) had a three-run triple to cap the scoring.

Dula had four hits, including a pair of doubles, and collected three RBI for Catawba.  Bostian and Satterfield also had three RBI.  Bostian, Zubillaga, Furr and Beard all had two hits in the 14-hit attack.  John Tuttle (Kannapolis, NC/A.L. Brown HS) earned the win with five innings of work to improve to 2-1.

Merriken, Champ Stuart and Chad Funhouser each had two hits for the Tornados.  Brennan Daniels (3-1) suffered his first loss of the season for Brevard.
