Catawba wasted little time getting on the board, taking a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first on Ethan Satterfield’s (Madison, NC/McMichael HS) RBI single. A wild pitch, followed by an RBI double from Bostian gave the Indians a 3-0 lead in the fourth.
Wingate got on the board in the fifth, plating two runs. Hunter led off the frame with a single, then scored on an RBI double from Godinez. An RBI single from senior infielder Jacob Karr made it 3-2.

The Bulldogs had an answer, cutting the lead to one in the seventh. Godinez singled to start the frame, then moved to second on a sacrifice. He scored on an RBI single from senior outfielder Dodson McPherson, making it 4-3.
Wingate tied it in the eighth, when Allison connected on his 16th homer of the year, a solo shot to make it 4-4.
The game would then go to extras. Wingate was unable to score in the top of the tenth frame.
Dula started the tenth inning with a single to left for the Indians. Craig Brooks (Monroe, NC/Parkwood HS) and Greg Lawson (Charlotte, NC/Providence HS) both intentionally walked to load the bases with one out setting up Hawks’ at bat.
