Women's Soccer registers fourth straight shutoutSALISBURY, NC -- Catawba College scored two first half goals and went on to defeat visiting Lenoir-Rhyne 2-0 in South Atlantic Conference women's soccer action on Wednesday night at Frock Field. Catawba improves to 5-2-1 overall and 4-0 in the SAC with a fifth straight win. Lenoir-Rhyne falls to 2-6-1 and 1-1. Catawba opened the scoring in the 28th minute as Erin Drickey (Alexandria, VA) one-timed a cross from Jen Lowe (Enfield, CT) past a helpless Julie Crosby (Cincinnati, OH) in goal for the Bears. Lowe would get her own goal 10 minutes later, converting on a corner kick from Kim O'Hagan (Branchburg, NJ). Lowecreated the corner after her bending free kick from the sideline was saved away by Crosby. Catawba's Kim Clayton (Haw River, NC) made all eight of her saves in the second half, the best coming after a header by Julie Dodds (Springfield, OH). Clayton posted her fourth shutout of the year and extended her scoreless streak to 391 minutes.
