Baseball signs two for 2004 seasonSALISBURY, NC -- Catawba College baseball coach, Jim Gantt, has announced the signing of two players for the 2004 season. Zach Evans, of Greensboro, NC, and Thomas Wilson, of Smithfield, NC, have announced they will play for the Tribe next season. Evans, a 5-10, 155, shortstop and pitcher, has started three seasons at Western Guilford High School. Last season, he helped the Hornets to the Mid-State (2A) Conference Championship and earned all-conference honors. He is also quarterback of the football team. Wilson, a 6-2, 185, pitcher, joins the Tribe from Louisburg Junior College. At Central Cabarrus High School, he was twice named team MVP and was a two-time all-conference selection. He helped the Vikings to a pair of conference titles and was All-State and league player of the year as a senior. #####
