Kennedy Named to Women's Golf All-SAC Second Team
ROCK HILL, SC – Catawba sophomore Madison Kennedy (Salisbury, NC/Salisbury HS) has earned second team All-South Atlantic Conference in women’s golf. It was announced on Thursday by the league office.
Kennedy has led Catawba in four events this season, including the last three heading into the SAC Championships which begin on Sunday in Sevierville, TN. She equaled her best collegiate finish with a runner-up spot earlier this week where she matched her career low round of 72. For the season, Kennedy has a 79.0 stroke average over 17 rounds.
After leading the SAC in adjusted scoring average and recording four top-five finishes at tournaments this season, Tusculum sophomore Emee Herbert has been selected as the conference’s women’s golf Player of the Year. Herbert finished the regular season with an adjusted scoring average of 75.64, according to Golfstat.com results.
Wingate’s Johanna Neumann, who was a second team All-SAC performer, earned the conference’s Freshman of the Year. Finally, Newberry’s Clarissa Childs was voted as the SAC Coach of the Year for the first time in her career after guiding her team to six top-10 finishes, including tournament titles at the Smoky Mountain Invitational and the Patsy Rendleman Invitational.
