Women's Golf Ranked 14th After Day One of Smoky Mountain Intercollegiate

SEVIERVILLE, NC -- The Catawba women’s golf team opened the season with a day one 14th-place finish among 17 teams at the Smokey Mountain Intercollegiate which concludes on Tuesday.  The event is hosted by Carson-Newman at the 5,816-yard, par-72 Highlands Course at the Sevierville Golf Club.  University of West Florida currently leads all teams with a three stroke advange score of 296.  Catawba posted a 331 score.

Madison Kennedy (Salisbury, NC/Salisbury HS) leads Catawba with a 21st place score of 77.  Lee University's Madison Alexander and Bernadette Little and West Florida's Aimee Paterson and Camila Sevillano finished the day in first with rounds of 73.  Four others sit just one stroke behind.
