Baseball's Chris Dula Received His SAC Male Athlete of the Year Award at Homecoming
Eliane Kebbe, the Associate Commissioner of the South Atlantic Conference, was on hand Homecoming Weekend to present Catawba’s Chris Dula with his 2013 South Atlantic Conference Male Athlete of the Year Award. The award is voted on by the league’s athletic directory.
Dula had a standout baseball season in 2013, helping lead Catawba to the SAC Championship. He won the conference triple crown, leading the league with a .402 batting average, hitting a conference best 14 home runs and sharing the SAC lead with 54 runs batted in. He also led the SAC in slugging percentage and on-base percentage, while finishing second in total hits and runs scored.
Dula was not only named the SAC Player of the Year, but was also recognized as the Daktronics Southeast Region Player of the Year and a first team All-American. He becomes the fourth student-athlete from Catawba to be named the SAC Athlete of the Year.
