Hardman Leads Indians to 7th Place Finish at Matt Dyas Invitational

CARROLLTON, GA -- The Catawba College men’s golf team tied for a 7th place finish on Tuesday at the two day, three round Matt Dyas Invitational hosted by the University West Georgia.  Eleven teams competed in the tournament at the 7,026-yard, par-72 Oak Mountain Championship Golf Course.  West Georgia won the team awards with a total score of 853.  Catawba finished with a 900.

Matt Hardman led the Indians with a score of 215 to finish in 5th place.  Tyler Rutherford was the next highest Catawba finisher with a 12th place 219.  West Georgia’s Corey Evans took medalist honors with a seven under 209.  Evans beat out Clayton State’s Fredrik Lindblom by two strokes.

The tournament concludes the fall season for Catawba.  The Indians will kick off the spring season on February 9th and 10th in Jacksonville, FL.
