Jordan-Steele and Boles Lead Catawba at the 2013 NCAA II Southeast Regional Races
CHARLOTTE, NC -- The Catawba College cross country teams each placed a runner in the top-100 at the NCAA II Southeast Regional race. The men’s team finished 27th out of 28 teams in the 10k race. In the 6k women’s race the Lady Indians finished 26th of 31 teams.
For the Catawba men, Matt Jordan-Steele was the highest team finisher in 92nd position with a time of 35:00.8. Mount Olive’s Dylan Lanford won the overall race with a time of 30:51.3. Landford’s win helped the Trojans to the overall team victory as well.
Erica Boles time of 25:03.7 ranked 91st in the women’s division to lead all Catawba females. Wingate took the team honors with a total of 75 points. King University’s Hannah Witt took top individual honors with a time of 21:46.0
With the race, Catawba concluded its 2013 season and will race again in the fall of 2014 under the direction of the newly appointed Brittney Chester. Chester received the promotion after the retirement of Bill Haggerty had been announced.
