Scheich Tabbed as SAC Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week
ROCK HILL, SC -- Catawba attacker John Scheich (Waxhaw, NC/Weddington HS) has been named the South Atlantic Conference Men’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week and Mars Hill keeper Patrick McMahon the league’s Defensive Player of the Week. It was announced on Monday by the league office from action taking place March 10-16.

Scheich led Catawba’s offensive attack with seven goals and six assists last week, guiding the Indians to a 2-1 record.
Against Florida Tech on Monday, Scheich sent the match into overtime with a goal in the final minute of regulation – one of four on the day - and then assisted on the game-winner in overtime as Catawba won, 12-11. He later added a goal and three assists in a Wednesday win at Rollins, and two goals and two assists on Sunday in a loss at Mars Hill.
Scheich also finished the week with four ground balls and totaled 13 shots-on-goal. He is currently tied for fourth in the SAC with 13 assists and ranks fifth in goals with 16.
SAC Men’s Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week | Patrick McMahon, Mars Hill
McMahon recorded a season-high 15 saves on Sunday against Catawba, leading Mars Hill to a 14-8 conference victory. The senior stopped 65.2-percent of Catawba’s shots-on-goal, in addition to picking up three ground balls.
McMahon’s 73 saves this season are fifth-most in the conference.
