Kennedy Leads Indians to 5th Place in First Round of Food Lion SAC Championships

SEVIERVILLE, TN -- The Catawba College women’s golf team sits in fifth position after the first round of the 2014 Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Championship.  Carson Newman is hosting the event at the 5,817, par-72 Sevierville Country Club.  Wingate currently leads all teams with a 325 score for a five stroke lead over Coker.  Catawba sits in a three-way tie with 340.

Catawba’s Madison Kennedy currently sits in third place with a 78, one stroke out of the lead.  Leslie Long placed second on the team with a ninth place 82. The Indians finished out their roster with Jana Burkhardt’s 26th place 87, Ali Lindo’s 93 and Carmen Grubb who shot 96.  Wingate’s Johanna Neumann and Coker’s Taylor Demby share the individual lead at 77. 

The Lady Indians will return to the links on Monday to complete the tournament.
