Softball and Baseball Teams to Hold Fight Against Cancer Games This Weekend
Catawba’s softball and baseball teams will be holding games this weekend to help support the fight against cancer. The softball team will host Brevard on Friday for its Strike Out Cancer games and baseball hosts Carson-Newman this weekend with special activities on Saturday for the VS. Cancer Foundation.
The softball doubleheader on Friday is the Fourth Annual Strike Out Cancer Game and will begin at 1 p.m. at Whitley Field. It also marks Senior Day for the Lady Indians. The team is collecting donations for the American Cancer Society and would like to encourage all of Catawba and the local community to attend. Come out and support the Lady Indians and the fight against cancer!
The Catawba baseball team has partnered with the VS. Cancer Foundation to help the battle against childhood cancer. The team has been raising money for the foundation with the monies raised being split evenly between the Levine Children’s Hospital and a local hospital.
Baseball is entertaining Carson-Newman in a key weekend series as the Indians enter the final three games tied for first. Friday’s game is at 6 p.m. with Saturday’s doubleheader starting at 1 p.m. Following the doubleheader, the baseball team will shave their heads as a visual support for an end to childhood cancer.
Those who would like to support this cause with the baseball team can donate online through the Catawba team link at this address:
Please help support baseball’s effort by attending the doubleheader and/or donating to the cause.
