ROCK HILL, SC -- Catawba claimed three of the top South Atlantic Conference post-season baseball awards which were announced by the conference office on Wednesday.  Junior Craig Brooks (Monroe, NC/Parkwood HS) was named Pitcher of the Year,  pitcher Shaefer Shepard (Boca Raton, FL/Boca Raton HS/Francis Marion) claimed Freshman of the Year honors and Jim Gantt earned Coach of the Year honors.

Catawba placed four players in five spots on the all-conference first team.  Brooks was not only named as a starting pitcher, but also at shortstop.  Shepard also claimed one of the three starting pitcher slots, while junior Ryan McClintock (Matthews, NC/Providence HS) claimed the relief pitcher spot.  Junior T.J.
