Hawks and Farmakis Earn Spots on Southeast Region All-Tournament Team
GREENWOOD, SC -- Catawba senior outfielder Keaton Hawks (Lexington, NC/E. Davidson HS) and freshman pitcher Matt Farmakis (Sharpsburg, GA/Northgate HS) were named to the NCAA II Southeast Region Baseball All-Tournament Team. The duo helped Catawba get within one game of playing for a second regional title.
Hawks hit .368 for the tournament, including three hits in each of the last two games. The senior was 8-for-17 for the four games with a double. He drove in two and scored twice, including once on a straight steal of home.
Farmakis made just one appearance for Catawba, but made an impact with a six-hit shutout of #24 Georgia College in an elimination game. Farmakis walked one a struck out six in the win. He allowed only two runners to reach second base and none over the last six innings.
