Men's Golf ties for seventh at Western Carolina Tournament

WAYNESVILLE, NC -- The Catawba College men's golf team finished in a tie for seventh in a 12-team field at the WCU-Laurel Ridge Intercollegiate which finished on Tuesday. The event was held at the par-72 Laurel Ridge Country Club. The field of 12 included just three NCAA Division II schools. Catawba, Belmont Abbey, which tied the Indians for seventh, and Lenoir-Rhyne, which was ninth. Sophomore Steven Harvey (Salisbury, NC) led the Indians, finishing in a tie for second, just one shot off the lead. Harvey fired rounds of 75 and 74 to finish a stroke behind High Point's Gordon Hughes. Junior Andrew Wymer (New Hope, VA) placed 13th, shooting two rounds of 77. TEAM RESULTS: 1.
