Anderson Pulls Out a 2-0 Win in Men's Soccer

SALISBURY, NC -- The Catawba College men’s soccer team fell 2-0 to Anderson to open up South Atlantic Conference play on Saturday evening at Frock Field.  The Catawba Indians are now 1-3 on the season and 0-1 in the South Atlantic Conference.  Anderson improves to 1-2 overall and 1-0 in the SAC. 

Anderson’s scored in the 12th minute after Brad Du Plooy sent the ball in front of the Catawba net to find Magnus Larson on the left side.

In the second half, the Trojans’ Andre Carle scored on an Oliver Wright pass to give the Trojans a 2-0 advantage in the 60th minute. 

Catawba was unable to answer the goals despite earning seven corners and taking four shots on the night. 

Catawba goalie, Christian Watts recorded two saves while Anderson’s Bo Haug recorded none.

Anderson outshot Catawba 11-4 and had an 8-7 corner kick margin.  Both teams recorded 11 fouls.

Catawba returns to Frock Field on Wednesday to host Mount Olive.  Kickoff is set for 7pm.
