SALISBURY, NC – The Catawba College men’s soccer team claimed a 3-0 win over the University of Mount Olive Wednesday night at Frock Field. With the win, Catawba improves to 2-3 on the year. Mount Olive suffers its first loss of the year and now stands at 2-1-2.
The teams entered halftime scoreless but Catawba Junior, Kenny Bonilla, broke the tie in the 59th minute. The goal, which later proved to be the game winner, was sent across the front of the net by Brian Woulfe and beating three Mount Olive defenders. The goal was Bonilla’s second on the season and both goals have come off a Woulfe pass.
Catawba would look to increase their lead with a second goal in the 70th minute by Woulfe. The goal marked his first of the season and was assisted by Declan Stimson. Woulfe’s goal was launched from outside the penalty box that stunned the Trojan’s keeper.
