Limestone Claims 3-0 Win Over Lady Indians
GAFFNEY, S.C. -- The Catawba College women’s soccer team suffered a 3-0 loss to Limestone Wednesday night at Saints Field. The loss marks the third in a row for the Lady Indians and the first ever to Limestone. Catawba now sits at 6-3 on the year while the Saints improve to 4-1-2.
Limestone scored all three goals in the first half beginning with a breakaway goal in the 13th minute by Gabriella Reid. The Saints would add a second goal eight minutes later and the third goal with three seconds remaining in the half.
Despite trailing on the scoreboard, Catawba led in most statistical categories on the night including a 14-6 shot advantage. The Lady Indians recorded more corner kicks, 3-0.
Limestone keeper, Alexis Dunbar, was the Saints’ hero after tallying ten saves in the winning effort. Catawba’s Angelica Pawlowski recorded two saves of her own.
Catawba will return to action on Saturday to host South Atlantic Conference opponent, Coker, at 5:30 p.m.
