Tusculum's Second Chance Goals Lead to 3-0 Win Over Indians
GREENVILLE, TN -- The Catawba College men's soccer team suffered a tough 3-0 loss to Tusculum Wednesday afternoon at Greenville High School. Catawba falls to 3-8-1 on the year and 1-5-1 in the South Atlantic Conference. Tusculum improves to 5-5-1 overall and 3-3-1 in conference.
Catawba keeper Christian Watts faced 20 shots on the night including nine on goal. The first two goals for Tusculum came off rebounded saves by Watts. The first came in the 44th minute by Andreas Kvam after a Matias Rubio shot. The second Pioneer goal was rebounded off a saved penalty kick. Roberto Pimentel sent in the goal to give Tusculum a 2-0 lead. Pimentel would also add in the third goal of the night in the 88th minute on an 18 yard chip shot.
Watts finished the game with six saves in the match. Tusculum's goal keeper Jorge Alvarez only faced two shots on goal all night, saving both.
Catawba returns home to Frock Field Wednesday night to host Concord at 5:00 p.m.
