HICKORY, N.C. -- The Catawba College women's soccer team suffered a 1-0 loss to South Atlantic Conference rival, Lenoir-Rhyne, Wednesday night at the Moretz Sports - Athletic Complex. The Catawba Lady Indians drop to 10-5 on the season with the loss and 5-4 in the South Atlantic Conference. Lenoir-Rhyne improves to 11-3-1 and 8-1 respectively.

The lone goal on the night came in the 77th minute of the match when Leah Mullins collected a long long pass from a fellow Bear teammate and sprinted pasted the Catawba defense. The shot was just one of 27 taken on the night by Lenoir-Rhyne.  Catawba could respond with only four of their own.

Catawba keeper, Bethany Davis, recorded 11 saves in the match which ties her career high for a game. Lenoir-Rhyne's Alayna Morris tallied just one save on the night.

Catawba returns home to Frock Field Saturday to host Lincoln Memorial on homecoming. Kickoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
