Indians Suffer 87-56 Loss to Livingstone
SALISBURY, N.C. -- The Catawba College women's basketball team fell 87-56 to the Livingstone Blue Bears Wednesday night at New Trent Gym. Catawba falls to 4-3 on the season while Livingstone improves to 6-0.
Livingstone was the first to score in the game and did not relinquish the lead after that. Catawba's Chloe Bully lead all scorers on the night with 20 points but was countered by Livingstone's Krya Clark who put in 19 points of her own. Clark, the former University of Alabama starter, added seven rebounds on the night.
Catawba struggled from long range on the night shooting 7-for-29 (24.1%) which led to a 16-of-59 (27.1%) shooting on the night. Livingstone fared much better shooting going 33-for-64 from the field and only 1-for-6 from behind the arc. Livingstone's 54-38 reboundig advantage was a large part of their high shooting percentage.
Catawba looks to bounce back on Saturday as they return home to Goodman Gym to host South Atlantic Conference foe, Carson-Newman. Tipoff is scheduled for 2p.m.
