Lowe falls in Men's Golf playoff as individual at Hargett IntercollegiateMARSHVILLE, NC -- Catawba College freshman Richard Lowe (Jefferson City, TN) finished second as an individual, losing in a playoff at the J. Ralph Hargett Memorial Intercollegiate Menís Golf Tournament which concluded on Tuesday afternoon. The event was hosted by Wingate at the 6,684-yard, par-72 Eagle Chase Golf Club.Lowe fell to North Greenville junior Darrell Ketola on the second playoff hole. Ketola and his NGC teammates could not hold on for the team title, as Walters State C.C. rallied for a 10-stroke victory. The Crusaders led by four strokes after the first day, but the WSCC Senators shot 302 in the final round to take the crown. On the par five 18th hole (521 yards), Ketola reached the green in two shots. He two-putted for a birdie to force the playoff. Both Ketola and Lowe parred the first extra hole (number one). On the second playoff hole, Ketola made another par while Lowe carded a double bogey. In addition to Ketola and Lowe, the all-tournament team included Limestoneís Kevin Parris and Thomas Smith and Blake Houser from Walters St. Catawba freshman Mike Grisnik (Beaver Falls, PA) shot a 76 on the final day to move into a tie for 20th place in the 66 man field.
