Lady Indians Clinch Home Playoff Game With Win Over Queens
Salisbury, N.C. -- The Catawba College women's basketball team clinched a home playoff game with a 64-43 victory over Queens University in South Atlantic Conference action Wednesday night at Goodman Gym. with the win, Catawba improves to 16-10 and 13-8 in the SAC. Queens falls to 5-21 and 3-18, respectively.
Catawba took the lead early in the game and ran away with the game after that. Catawba was led by Jada Huntley who tallied 15 points, six rebounds and six steals. Senior, Chloe Bully ignited the Indians offense with an 11 point game, while adding five assists, two blocks and two steals.
Queens was led by Lacey Singletary who recorded 14 points in the post while grabbing eight boards for the Royals.
Catawba finished the game shooting 26-of-58 for 44.8%. Catawba's three point shooting struggled from the floor going 3-for-20. The Lady Indians added 9-of-18 shots from the charity stripe.
Queens shot only 16-for-49 from the floor for 32.7%. The Royals added 1-for-8 from long range and 10-of-16 from the free throw line.
Catawba will close the regular season this Saturday as they host Lincoln Memorial at 2:00 p.m.
