Men's Lacrosse Nabs 15-9 Win Over NGU


TIGERVILLE, S.C. -- Catawba got four goals each from Dalton Cook (St. Augustine, Fla./Bartram Trail HS) and Adam Hebert (Charlotte, N.C./Charlotte Catholic) in a 15-9 victory over host North Greenville on Wednesday afternoon at Pepsi Field.  The Catawba Indians improved to 2-3 overall, while the Crusaders fall to 0-3.

Catawba scored the opening three goals and led 5-1 after a quarter.  The Crusaders pulled within 8-5 late in the first half, but the Indians grabbed a goal with nine seconds left in the half then put in five unanswered goals in the third quarter in building a 14-5 lead. 

Connor Kennedy (Weddington, N.C./Weddington HS/Tampa) and Justin Warnock (Jamestown, N.C./SW Guilford HS) picked up a pair of goals for the Indians.  Josh Dolewski led North Greenville with four goals.

Catawba held a decisive 46-27 edge in shots and won 20-of-25 face-offs.  Daniel Rew (Forest Hill, Md./Bel Air HS) won 14 of his 16 attempts.  Rew also grabbed 10 ground balls.

Catawba heads to Brevard on Saturday for a 1 pm match-up with the Tornados.
