Cook and Hebert Score Twice in Loss to #2 Limestone
GAFFNEY, S.C. -- The Catawba men's lacrosse fell to NCAA II second-ranked Limestone 20-5 in its season finale on Friday night at Saints Field. The Saints improve to 17-1, while the Catawba Indians end their 2015 campaign at 5-10.
Limestone led 8-0 after a quarter with Catawba getting its first goal at the 12 minute mark of the second quarter on a man-up tally from Dalton Cook (St. Augustine, Fla./Bartram Trail HS). The Saints would score the final five goals of the half to lead 13-1 at the break.
The Saints would lead 17-1 before Adam Hebert (Charlotte, N.C./Charlotte Catholic HS) scored back-to-back late in the third quarter for the Indians. Cook added another midway through the final quarter and Daniel Rew (Forest Hill, Md./Bel Air HS) notched the final goal for Catawba.
Limestone got goals from 10 different players with Vinny Ricci scoring four times. Ben Higgins collected three goals, while Kyle Rhatigan had two goals and five assists. Cook and Hebert each had two goals for Catawba and Connor Kennedy (Weddington, N.C./Weddington HS/Tampa) picked up a pair of assists.
The Saints held a hefty 51-17 edge in shots and grabbed 60 ground balls to 28 for Catawba. Limestone also won 22 of the 29 face-offs.
