Softball to Face Anderson in Southeast 1 Regional Opener on Friday


INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- Catawba College was selected as the fourth seed in this weekend’s 2015 NCAA II Softball Southeast 1 Regional which will be held on the campus on North Georgia University in Dahlonega, Ga.  The Catawba Indians (29-15) will face Anderson (39-13) in the opening game on Friday at 4 p.m.

Top-seeded North Georgia (44-7) will play #8-seed Limestone (30-13) on Friday at 6:30 p.m.  The winner of the Southeast 1 Regional will face the winner of the Southeast 2 Regional in a best two-of-three series on the weekend of May 15-17.  The Southeast 2 Regional is being held at #2-seed Georgia College and also includes third-seeded GRU Augusta, sixth-seeded Carson-Newman and seventh-seeded Armstrong.

Friday’s winners will play on Saturday at noon with the losers facing off at 2:30 p.m.  A loser’s bracket game will close out Saturday play at 5 p.m.  The Championship Game is set for Sunday at 1 p.m.

Admission for the tournament is $8 per day for those over 17 and $5 for students ages 8-17.  A tournament pass can be purchased for $20 and $10 for students.  Students of participating schools can purchase tickets using the student rates with a valid student ID.
