Men's Soccer announces seven newcomers for 2003

SALISBURY, NC -- Catawba College men’s soccer coach, Craig Turnbull, has announced seven signings for the upcoming season. Joining the Indian soccer program are Seth Clark, of Huntersville, NC, Jason Dumond, of Coppell, TX, Bill Goodman, of Salisbury, NC, Jamin Harvey, of Denver, CO, Adam Linder, of Mocksville, NC, Will McElheny, of Norwood, NC, and Nathan Zuzga, of Troy, MI. “We are excited to announce the addition of these young men to our program,” stated Coach Turnbull. “They have all played at high levels and we feel they each can contribute to the tradition of Catawba Soccer.” Clark is a 5-11, 150, midfielder from First Assembly Christian Academy. He was named to the N.C. Independent School All-State team and was an all-tournament performer. Dumond is a 6-1, 160, striker from Coppell High School and earned all-conference honors. Goodman is a 6-0, 160, striker from Salisbury High School. He was named all-conference, all-region and All-State. Harvey is a 5-11, 155, defender from East High School, where he was an all-conference performer. Linder is a 5-11, 165, midfielder/striker from Davie County High School. He was all-conference last season and was previously an All-Metro East performer in Indianapolis, IN. McElheny is a 6-3, 205, goalkeeper from Louisburg Junior College. He helped Louisburg to the Elite 8 in the National JUCO Championships. Zuzga is a 6-0, 165, striker from Troy High School. He is a member of the Michigan ODP team and was a regional ODP team member. “We return a great group of players that have represented Catawba College well the past few seasons and feel that the players we brought in last year have matured and developed quite well through the Fall and Spring seasons,” said Turnbull. “Our soccer family is sad to see out seniors complete their eligibility as they have all been great to work with the past four years. We are very proud of their accomplishments on the field, but most importantly we are proud to continue our program’s ability to have our players come to Catawba College and graduate in four years time.” “The 2003 season is eagerly anticipated by all of those in our program and we have our sights set very high,” continued Turnbull. “Now, all that is left is to get fit, stay healthy and begin our training in August. #####
