Women's Lacrosse Finishes 15th in NCAA II in Draw Control Wins
Catawba finished ranked 15th among the 92 NCAA II women’s lacrosse teams in draw controls per game. The Catawba Indians averaged 14.6 a game in posting a 9-9 record in 2015. Catawba ranked 27th in both ground balls a game (19.89) and assists per game (5.89).
The 13.17 goals per game for the Lady Indians was 30th best in NCAA II. On defense, Catawba finished 34th in caused turnovers at 8.44 a contest.
Individually, Hannah Scott ranked 22nd in ground balls (3.11) and 40th in caused turnovers (1.56). The freshman was 56th in draw control wins (3.44). Kourtney Jones was 24th in draw controls (4.35), 26th in ground balls (3.00) and 38th in caused turnovers (1.59).
Meredith Jones averaged 1.41 assists a game to rank 49th in NCAA II with her total of 24 standing 47th. Caroline Beggs tallied 69 points which was 44th in the nation and her 3.83 points a game was 63rd. She was 57th in goals per game (2.83) and 40th in total goals with 51.
Goalie Bethany Davis posted 161 saves on the year which put her 14th overall. It accounted for 8.94 per game, ranked 27th. She was 45th in save percentage at 42.3%.
