Burton Nabs Top 10 Finish at TC Men's Golf Fall Classic
GREENEVILLE, Tenn. -- Catawba was able to move up one spot and finished sixth at the Tusculum Men's Fall Golf Classic on Tuesday. The event, held at the 6,793-yard, Par-72 Link Hills Country Club, was reduced to a 27-hole tournament due to weather. Catawba posted a score of 148 over the nine holes on Tuesday and finished with a 446 total.
Catawba freshman Trey Burton (Hickory, N.C./Newton-Conover HS) earned a top-10 finish as his score of 34 on nine holes put him on a 107 total. Jordan Taylor (Troy, N.C./W. Montgomery HS/Campbell) was a shot behind and his 108 score placed him 11th.
Host Tusculum picked up a nine-shot win over Lenoir-Rhyne. The Pioneers finished with a 418 total. Charles Hartzog, of Mars Hill, held on to his lead and his 99 total was two better than runner-up Brad Hawkins, of Tusculum.
