Taylor Tied For 10th Entering Final Round at State Farm Intercollegiate
TAZEWELL, Tenn. -- Catawba stands 12th among 14 teams after two rounds on Monday at the State Farm Intercollegiate men's golf tournament. Lincoln Memorial is hosting the event at the 6,711-yard, Par-72 Woodlake Golf Club.
The host Railsplitters hold a two-shot lead on Carson-Newman after Monday's play. LMU posted a score of 570. Catawba had rounds of 307 and 300 to card a 6-7 total.
Jordan Taylor (Troy, N.C./W. Montgomery HS/Campbell) leads Catawba with an even-par total of 144 and sits in 10th. He opened with a 74 then fired a two-under 70 in the second round. Freshman Trey Burton (Hickory, N.C./Newton-Conover HS) posted a 147 total which included an even-par second round. Taylor has nine birdies over the two rounds with Burton collecting seven.
Tusculum's Brad Hawkins leads after rounds of 66 and 67 put him at 11-under-pars. He leads Sam Broadhurst, of Lincoln Memorial, by two shots. Broadhurst shot a 64 in round two.
