Burton's 73 Paces Men's Golf at Dyas Invitational

CARROLLTON, Ga. -- Catawba stands ninth after the opening round of the Matt Dyas Invitational Men's Golf Tournament.  The two-day event, hosted by West Georgia, is being held at the 7,026-yard, Par-72 Oak Mountain Championship Golf Course.  Catawba opened with a 313 total on Monday and are 19 shots back of leader Young Harris.

Individually for Catawba, freshman Trey Burton (Hickory, N.C./Newton-Conover HS) fired a 73 and is in seventh place after Monday's first round.  Wes Cline (Thomasville, N.C./E. Davidson HS) followed Burton as he completed the round with a score of 77.

Trey Pearson, of Young Harris leads the way overall with a three-under-par 69 after a round.  Teammate Clark Melton and Daniel Dahmash, of Christian Brothers, are a shot back.
