Swim Teams Back in Pool on First Night of Fall Frenzy
ROCK HILL, S.C. -- The Catawba swim teams are back in action this weekend at the Wingate Fall Frenzy being held at the Rock Hill YMCA. The Catawba men picked up 193 points on Friday, while the women accumulated 96 points. Queens, Wingate and Gardner-Webb are the other teams at the meet.
Aly Hegazi had the best finish on the night for Catawba as he was 12th in the men's 500 free. The freshman posted a time of 4:37.58 which marked the fourth fastest time in school history. Michael King won the C Final in the 500 free with a time of 4:45.71.
On the women's side, Marcia-Mariel Erhart placed 13th in the 500 free and Amy Cujas was 13th in the 50 free. Erhart's time of 5:12.89 was the 15th fastest on record, while Cujas' time of 24.89 is ninth best. Nadine Brockmann claimed a win in the C Final of the 500 free with her time of 5:14.13.
