Rogers Earns AstroTurf SAC Women's Basketball Player of Week Honors
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) -- Catawba forward Terri Rogers has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for games played Jan. 4-10. It was announced by the league on Monday. A sophomore from Burlington, N.C., Rogers posted back-to-back 20-point games and averaged a double-double of 24 points and 10 rebounds to lead her squad to a pair of South Atlantic Conference wins last week.
Rogers got her week started with 22 points, 13 rebounds, one assist and one steal in an 85-51 win at Queens on Jan. 6. Three days later at Brevard, Rogers connected on 12-of-16 from the field and a pair of free-throws to finish with 26 points as the Catawba Indians downed the Tornados, 70-55. She also ripped down seven rebounds and notched one assist in the win.
The sophomore ranks fifth in the SAC with 14.6 points per game and is also No. 5 in the conference with 8.4 rebounds per game. The honor is her first Player of the Week plaudit this season.
