Haverty three shots off pace for Women's Golf NationalsLAKELAND, FL – Catawba’s Paige Haverty (Greenville, NC) stands 12th after the opening two rounds of the NCAA II Women’s South Regional Golf Tournament, being held at the 6,014-yard, par-72 Lone Pine Golf Club. The freshman fired rounds of 83 and 79 to stand on 162 with one round remaining. Haverty is three shots out of the final spot for an individual to qualify for the NCAA II National Tournament. Rollins, at 607, and host Florida Southern, at 613, have virtually assured their team spot in the nationals as third place Nova Southeaster is 38 shots behind the second place Tars. The top two teams plus the two individuals with the best finish not on the teams that qualify will advance. Rollins and Florida Southern hold eight of the top 12 positions. Tusuclum’s Rachel McFarland is the top individual not on the top two teams, standing sixth with a total of 158. Lisa Bowden, of Central Arkansas, and Rebecca Pomichter, of Nova, stand ninth at 159. #####
