Taylor Finishes in Team-Best 20th at Ocean Course in Newberry Inv.
KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. -- Catawba had a final round 324 at the Newberry Invitational which concluded Tuesday at the 6,682-yard, Par-72 Ocean Course. The Catawba Indians finished in 13th with a 957 total. Georgia Southwestern carded a 294 score in the final round to win by 13 shots over North Greenville.
Jordan Taylor (Troy, N.C./W. Montgomery/Campbell) had the highest finish for Catawba in 20th place. He had a three-round total of 228 after an 80 on Tuesday. Tyler Mulkey (Salisbury, N.C./N. Rowan/Charlotte) had the best round for the Catawba Indians in the final round with a 77. He finished in 53rd two spots behind Wes Cline (Thomasville, N.C./E. Davidson), who closed with an 84.
Georgia Southwestern had the top two individuals. Tyler Barker took medallist honors after a final round 69 put him on a 216 total. He edge teammate Ethan Chamineak, the leader after Monday, by a shot.
