Minter Shoots 74 to Lead Men's Golf on Final Day at Tennessee River Rumble
LOUDON, Tenn. -- Catawba finished up 11th at the Tennessee River Rumble men's golf tournament which concluded on Tuesday at the 7,163-yard, par-72 Tennessee National Golf Club. Carson-Newman took the team title by eight shots over host Lincoln Memorial.
Carson-Newman had a two-round total of 598 with LMU carding a 606 and Brevard a 608. Catawba finished with a 668 score. Tyler Mulkey (Salisbury, N.C./N. Rowan/Charlotte) had the best two-round total for Catawba with a 162 and was 42nd. Jay Minter (Sanford, N.C./S. Lee) had the best single round with a season-low 74 on Tuesday and was 45th.
Dalton Reese, of Carson-Newman, edged out Brevard's Oskar Lundgren for medallist honors. Reese had a one-under-par 71 on Tuesday to shoot a 145 total.
Catawba will finish up its season at the SAC Championships at the Etowah Valley Golf Club from April 17-19.
