Hedrick Takes 15th at SAC Women's Golf Championships
MONROE, N.C. -- Catawba’s Victoria Hedrick (Lexington, N.C./C. Davidson) finished up 15th at the 2016 South Atlantic Conference Women's Golf Championships which concluded on Tuesday at the 5,881-yard, par-72 Monroe Country Club. Hedrick finished the three rounds with a score of 240.
On Tuesday, Hedrick posted a 79, the second of her three rounds under 80. Starting on the back nine, the sophomore turned at +5 with five bogeys. Hedrick pared the first six holes on the front nine before a double bogey. She ranked in a tie for second in the tournament field with 35 pars, just one off Abbey Hartsell’s best of 36.
Madison Moore (Westfield, N.C./E. Surry) finished in 37th position. She posted an 83 on Tuesday and finished with an overall score of 248. Moore carded a pair of birdies in the final round, giving her three during the tournament.
Grace Glaze, of Queens, held off a late charge by Hartsell to earn medalist honors by a single shot. Glaze had a 75 on Tuesday and finished at 223. Hartsell went around Tuesday in a two-under-par 70. Second round leader, Newberry’s Nabila Inak, suffered through a 78 on Tuesday to finish third, two shots back.
Queens earned the team title at the championships by four shots over Carson-Newman. The Royals finished the three rounds with a 938 total.
