Hedrick Matches Career Low in Final Round of Noble Memorial
DAHLONEGA, Ga. -- Catawba junior Victoria Hedrick (Lexington, N.C./C. Davidson) tied her career low with a closing round of 75 to help Catawba hold its 11th-place finish at the LeeAnn Noble Memorial Women’s Golf Tournament. The tournament hosted by North Georgia, concluded on Tuesday at the 5,956-yard, par-72 Achasta Golf Club.
Montevallo won the tournament with a two-round total of 591. The winners shot rounds of 292 and 299. Lee was second, seven shots back, and UNC Pembroke third. Catawba had a total of 667.
Hedrick earned a 19th-place finish after her total of 153, the best two-round tournament of her career. Freshman Kaley Barts (Apex, N.C./Apex) followed in 51st place with a 166 score.
Montevallo’s Elaine Wood set a tournament record with a seven-under-par 137 total for two rounds and also posted the low single round score with a 68 on Tuesday. She claimed an eight-shot win over a trio of golfers; Ashlii Thompson, of UNC Pembroke, Savannah Payne, of West Alabama, and Reagan Greene, of Lincoln Memorial.
The tournament marked the final fall event for the Lady Indians.
