Swimming Falls at Queens

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Catawba took on the two-time defending NCAA II swimming and diving champions Queens University on Saturday at the Levine Center Pool.  The Queens men’s won 135-96 over the Catawba Indians, while the Royal women posted a 133-75 win over the Lady Indians.

Marcia-Mariel Erhart had two swims for the women that were in the top 25 all-time times.  She went third in the 1000 free with a time of 10:58.00 that was the 24th fastest in school history.  The sophomore swam the 20th best 200 fly in a time of 2:17.62 to place second.

For the men, Mario Zaninovic posted the eighth best 1000 free in school history.  His time of 9:48.97 was good enough for third place.  Domink Brus had a second in the 100 back (52.29) and Aly Hegazi was second in the 100 free (47.42).

Catawba returns to the pool on Saturday, January 14, hosting Wingate at 1 pm.
