Volleyball gets win in final game at AASU Tournament

SAVANNAH, GA -- The Catawba volleyball team salvaged the final game at the Chatham Orthopaedic Pirate Volleyball Classic, held over the weekend at Armstrong Atlantic University. The Lady Indians fell in its opening match on Saturday to host AASU, but finished off the tournament with a win over Augusta State. Catawba now stands at 6-3 on the year. Heather Hawkins led the way against AASU. She posted 16 kills and a pair of blocks. Hope Miller also reached double digits in kills with 11 and added a dozen digs and three aces. Nicole Scheidt recorded 43 assists. Hawkins posted a career-high 24 kills in the win over Augusta State. Miller followed with 14 kills and 23 digs, while adding three aces. Scheidt had 63 assists. #####
