Men's Golf Sits in 11th After Day One of Spring Kick Off
FLEMING ISLAND, Fla. -- Host Lincoln Memorial and Flagler share the lead after the first day of the Spring Kick Off Intercollegiate Men’s Golf Tournament with a 576 score after two rounds. The 54-hole tournament is being held at the 6,780-yard, par-72 Golf Club at Fleming Island. Catawba sits in 11th place with a 609 total.
The Catawba Indians came back from an opening 315 with a 294, which was the sixth lowest score in round two. Trey Burton (Hickory, N.C./Newton-Conover) had rounds of 76 and 73 and is in 28th place to lead Catawba. Wes Cline’s (Thomasville, N.C./E. Davidson) 72 in round two was the best of the day for an Indian and leaves him in 35th with a 151 total.
Belmont Abbey’s Nick Stafford holds the individual lead after he fired a 64 in round two. He is currently at five-under, four shots ahead of Siyan David Liu, of Palm Beach Atlantic, and Spencer Schindler, of Flagler. Liu had opened with a 68.
The tournament will conclude with another 18 holes on Tuesday.
