T & F Assitant Coach Coleman Publishes Article in Techniques Magazine
Catawba College assistant track and field coach, Max Coleman, has co-authored an article that appears in the August edition of the USTFCCCA Techniques Magazine. Joining Coleman on the article, which was written in graduate school, were Vladimir Strelnitski and Bill Ferguson.
The article, entitled ‘The Long Jump’, centers on techniques for the long jump. It is intended to help coaches and athletes understand the physics of the long jump.
The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCA) is an organization focused on the education of coaches and promotion of T&F/CC programs. This organization is widely respected and used as the standard for the Track and Field world. Based in New Orleans, La., the USTFCCCA is a professional association representing men's and women's cross country and track & field coaches in the United States. The organization has about 8,000 members and 94% of NCAA track & field programs are members of USTFCCCA. The group serves as an advocate for coaches, providing a national forum to address their needs. It also serves as a lobbyist for coaches' interests, and a "liaison between the various stakeholders" in the sport"
