ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) -- The South Atlantic Conference announced its AstroTurf  SAC Football Players of the Week for games the second week of the season.  Catawba wide out Sam Mobley was tabbed the Offensive Player of the Week, while Wingate linebacker Robbie Wallace was named the Defensive Player of the Week.  Tusculum placekicker Isaac Gallegos and Newberry return man Chance Walker were named Co-Special Teams Players of the Week.

Mobley, a senior from Monroe, N.C., hauled in eight catches for 211 yards to lead the Catawba Indians to a 27-20 win over FCS and SoCon school VMI on Sept. 9.  Five of his catches for 165 yards came in the second half as he helped Catawba erase a 10-0 halftime deficit.  His 13-yard score in the fourth quarter put the Catawba Indians up 20-13.  He finished the contest with an average of 26.4 yards per catch, while his 211 total yards were the second most receiving yards in Catawba history.  The honor marks his first Offensive Player of the Week selection this season.

Wallace, a sophomore from Covington, Ga., recorded 10 tackles, one sack, one tackle for loss and one pass break up to help the Bulldogs to a 31-21 win over Fayetteville on Sept. 9.  He notched seven solo tackles in the contest as his tackle for loss and sack combined to put the Broncos in a 12-yard hole.  The honor is his first Defensive Player of the Week nod this season.

Gallegos, a freshman from Knoxville, Tenn., kicked a school-record four field goals in his collegiate debut in Tusculum's 39-12 home-opening win over Shorter on Sept. 9. Gallegos recorded field goals of 37, 25, 37 and 38 yards. Along with his three made extra points, he finished the game with 15 points scored, which are the second most ever by a Tusculum kicker in a single-game.  The award is his first Special Teams Player of the Week plaudit this season.

Walker, a freshman from Gaston, S.C., returned a first-quarter kickoff 100 yards for a score in Newberry’s loss to Virginia Union on Sept. 9.  He became just the sixth player in South Atlantic Conference history to return a kickoff 100 yards or more for a score as he set the Newberry standard for the longest kickoff return in school history.  He also added a return of 31 yards later in the contest.  The honor is his first Special Teams Player of the Week pick this season.
