Mulkey's 74 Leads Men's Golf on Day One at King Inv.

BRISTOL, Tenn. – Catawba is in ninth place after one round of the King Invitational men’s golf tournament being held at the Country Club of Bristol. The two-day tournament will finish on Tuesday with a second 18-hole round.

The Catawba Indians posted a 301 team score. Erskine (283) leads the tournament by two shots over North Greenville.  Host King is tied for third with Southern Wesleyan.

Tyler Mulkey led Catawba on day one with a 74 and is in 25th. Trey Burton and Wes Cline are in a tie for 31st after both shot 75.

Bernie McShane, of Erskine, and Evan Gfeller, of North Greenville, share the first-round lead after each turned in scores of 68. They lead Southern Wesleyan’s Thomas Nielsen and Belmont Abbey’s Nick Stafford by a shot.
