Women's Soccer Falls to Carson-Newman

SALISBURY, N.C. -- Carson-Newman scored the three goals against host Catawba 3-0 in a South Atlantic Conference women’s soccer match on Saturday afternoon at the Frock Soccer Complex. The Eagles improve to 10-0-1 overall and 6-0-1 in the SAC, while the Catawba Indians fall to 5-5 and 3-2.

The Eagles started the scoring off with a lone goal in the 30th minute of the first half by a goal from Holly Talbut-Smith. Helen Seed started the second half with a immediate goal from a rebound from 10 yards out. Seed shot the third and final goal in after a pass from Averi Williams and Lauren Wade.

The Lady Indians out saved Carson-Newman 9-4. Shelby Thompson was the goalkeeper for the Lady Indians. Jacqueline Burns was the goalkeeper for the Eagles.

Catawba will host Mount Olive on Wednesday at 4:30 pm in a non-conference match.
