Men's Soccer Tripped Up by Carson-Newman

SALISBURY, N.C. -- Carson-Newman topped host Catawba 3-0 in South Atlantic Conference men’s soccer action on Saturday night at Frock Soccer Complex. The Catawba Indians fall to 1-7-1 overall and 1-3-1 in SAC. The Carson-Newman Eagles move to 9-1-1 overall 6-0-1 in SAC.
 
CN started the scoring in the 14th minute with Tobias Solem Karlsen taking a pass from Thaylan Silva from 12 yards out for the goal. The second goal came from Siva in the 75th minute to stretch the lead to 2-0 over Catawba. Karlsen scored his second goal of the night in the 82nd minute after receiving a pass from Jonny Le Quesne.

Evan Jeckells stopped five shots for Catawba, including an early penalty kick with the game scoreless. Twan Verweij made three saves for Carson-Newman.
 
Catawba is back in action on Wednesday as the Indians host Lenoir-Rhyne in a conference match with a kickoff at 7 pm.
