Men's Golf ties for 14th at AFLAC/Cougar Inv.

COLUMBUS, GA -- Catawba College finished in a tie for 14th in a field of 15 teams at the AFLAC/Cougar Invitational, which concluded Tuesday at the 6,515-yard, par-71 Country Club of Columbus. Defending national champion, Francis Marion shot a final round 293 to pass first day leader Armstrong Atlantic State to win the team title with a three-round score of 898. The Pirates finished second with a score of 908 followed by host Columbus State (909) and West Florida (911). Catawba had a three-round total of 970. The individual title went to Fredrik Ohlsson, of Francis Marion, who had a three-round score of 216. He bested Carson-Newmans Matthew Cram-Smith by six shots.
