Men's Golf Fourth After Day 1 of D2 Region Preview
CONOVER, N.C. -- Catawba is in a tie for fourth among 17 teams at the NCAA II South/Southeast Super Regional Preview Men’s Golf Tournament after Monday’s opening round at the 6,635-yard, par-72 Rock Barn Golf & Spa. The Catawba Indians shot a 297 in the first round and are seven shots behind Barton. Lincoln Memorial is in second after a 295 total.
Wes Cline shot an even-par 72 to lead the Catawba contingent. He is in a tie for sixth. Austin Boyd is in 17th after carding a 74. Barton’s Bryson Boyette holds the lead after one round with a four-under-par 68. He leads teammate Justin Plane by two shots.
