Men's Soccer Battles #24 Wingate to Scoreless Draw
WINGATE, N.C. -- Wingate, ranked 24th in NCAA II, and visiting Catawba battled to a 0-0 draw in South Atlantic Conference men’s soccer action on Wednesday night at Pride Park. The Catawba Indians move to 1-9-2 overall and 1-5-2 in the SAC. The Bulldogs now stand at 10-3-1 and 7-0-1.
In the scoreless game, Wingate led the in shots with a 19-9 edge over Catawba. Pablo Jara was the goalkeeper for the Bulldogs and recorded a total of four saves. Joe Gonzalez picked up five saves for the Indians Three of Gonzales' five saves came in the extra time.
Catawba returns to action at the Frock Soccer Complex on Saturday as the Indians host Tusculum at 5 pm.
