Women's Soccer wins fifth straight by shutout

SALISBURY, NC – Catawba College, ranked 16th in NCAA II, picked up its fifth straight shutout win, 1-0 over the visiting Belmont Abbey Crusaders Monday night in women’s soccer action at Frock Field. The Lady Indians move to 11-1 on the year, while the Crusaders drop to 8-5, having their seven-game win streak snapped. The lone goal of the night came at the 23:47 mark when Jamie Fink (Woodbridge, VA) slammed home her fifth of the year, with an assist going to Kyley Thompson (Hagerstown, MD) and Jen Lowe (Enfield, CT), who started the play with a free kick. Cathrine Balentine (Charlotte, NC) picked up her ninth shutout, extending her scoreless streak to 454 minutes.
